Job Overview
Estimation Engineer will prepare accurate cost estimates for precast projects. The role involves analysing drawings, BOQs and client requirements to develop competitive and reliable cost proposals, while coordinating with internal teams for inputs.
Responsibilities:
- Estimate project costs using pricing structures and schedule of rates for manufacturing and erection of precast products.
- Prepare accurate BOQ for various precast projects.
- Provide detailed and accurate quotations to clients. Ensuring quotes are delivered to agreed service level and margins.
- Provide professional, dedicated and customer-focused service. Correctly interpret requests; understand specification of requirements and provide value engineering.
- Travel to job sites to provide technical assistance for clients and sales teams to better understand client requirements.
- Obtain and maintain current info on pricing structures and schedule of rates from material vendors, contractors, procurement team and production team.
- Support the operational teams by offering guidance on specifications and costs.
- Provide cost control metrics through creation of documents to track costs and forecasting of future variations in cost.
- Prepare work breakdown structures and perform earned value analysis.
- Travel to precast erection sites to track material usage to ensure quantities are within budget and provide reports regarding the same.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in estimation / costing of construction projects (precast preferred)
- Strong knowledge of estimation software, MS Excel and AutoCAD.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with complex data.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
