Job Overview
The Site / Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all site activities related to precast concrete elements, ensuring works are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Coordination
- Review precast shop drawings, erection drawings, and method statement
- Coordinate with design, production, logistics, and erection teams
- Prepare work schedules, sequencing, and installation plans
- Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors
2. Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise erection and installation of precast elements (walls, beams, slabs, columns, stairs, etc.)
- Ensure proper handling, lifting, alignment, grouting, and jointing of precast units
- Monitor daily site activities and productivity
- Resolve technical and site-related issues promptly
3. Quality Control
- Ensure precast elements comply with approved drawings and specifications
- Conduct inspections before, during, and after installation
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC and consultants
- Ensure proper rectification of defects and non-conformances
4. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce site safety rules and HSE procedures
- Ensure lifting operations follow approved lifting plans
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Report and investigate incidents or near misses
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily progress reports and installation records
- Maintain as-built drawings and site records
- Submit inspection requests, work completion reports, and method statements
- Track material deliveries and site inventories
6. Cost & Schedule Control
- Monitor progress against project schedule
- Assist in cost control and material reconciliation
