Job Overview
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the costs associated with precast construction projects from the feasibility stage through to completion. This includes monitoring project budgets, verifying site measurements, and ensuring cost-effective usage of materials. The role plays a key part in ensuring profitability and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
1. Project Cost Monitoring
- Track actual site material consumption and labour deployment.
- Visit sites to verify measurements and reconcile quantities with production and dispatch logs.
- Compare planned vs. actual costs and prepare variance reports with corrective action plans.
2. Procurement & Coordination
- Liaise with procurement to ensure cost alignment and quantity compliance.
- Assist in validating vendor bills and raising alerts for quantity deviations.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain cost control documentation including quantity take-offs, measurement books, and approval logs.
- Support in preparing earned value analysis (EVA) and project forecasts.
- Submit periodic cost reports and input for budget planning.
Professional Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following professional assets:
- Education
- Degree Level: Bachelor
- Field of Study: Civil engineering / construction management.
- Previous Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in estimation.
- Technical Skills: BOQ and BOM preparation, Analytic skills.
